According to Vic, many of our trees have served as the host of mistletoe for way too long. He decided to get crazy today and begin cutting the bazillion trees we have that have mistletoe growing.
I guess that means no more kissing under the mistletoe at Christmas time!
Out came the backhoe and the boom for a day of play.
Mistletoe is a pretty green leafy plant known for good things like kissing and even fighting cancer but bad for trees. Mistletoe attaches its roots to the host tree and survives off of the tree's nutrients and will eventually kill the tree.
Vic is in his glory playing in a big toy.
Im not liking the angle of the boom right about now.
Poor tree got scalped.
Papa Ron watches from down below.
Vic's giving me hunger signals, time for a quick break.
Backhoe is ready for clearing out the branches.
Vic's sporting a couple war wounds, but all in all, they cleared out 8 trees; it was worth it.
Glad it's them and not me!
