Laundry

Laundry? Why would I talk about laundry. I have two things I really despise when it comes to laundry; piles and piles and missing socks!

Today, I have to say, I'm sick and tired of it.  (I will be fine tomorrow) Yesterday I finished the separated piles into nicely washed, folded, ironed, stretched (more about that later), and put away stacks. Later that evening when the kids and my husband came home they threw piles on the perfectly clean laundry room floor! How dare they!

I think it's one of those thankless jobs . Everyone thinks its so easy...and it really is...but, if you don't enjoy it, which I don't most of the time, it really seems like work.

You ask what is stretching? My husband is fairly tall and all of his T-shirts shrink when I put them in the dryer so much that it looks like he is wearing a teenager's shirt. I have tried drying them half-way but then I forget about them and then it's too late. I have also tried not drying them but then they are "crustyish" (is that a word?). I like them soft and fluffy. So I wash them, dry them, and re-wet just enough that i can stretch them long enough so that they look just right on him.  I know it sounds crazy, but I love him and if long T-shirts make him happy, then that's what I will do.

I do buy his T-Shirts from the Big & Tall section of the stores...when I can.

What happens to all of the missing socks? Mystery. How could I have 32 half pairs? The answer.....kids. That's all I need to say.
